I have to start off by saying that this letter is way overdue. The weather and lifestyle out here in Kelowna makes it hard to sit and write a letter. That being said, I couldn't put off letting you know how much we love our cottage, or to me, my new home. Pat and the kids worry that one of these days I might not come home.

Right from the beginning of Pat falling in love with the lot, I had my reservations. We live in Alberta with 3 busy kids. Pat owns and runs his own company and I run a small business of my own. Therefore, neither of us had a lot of time to put into looking after a cottage being built. The realtor we were working with highly recommended Okanagan Sunrise Construction to build Pat's dream. From the very beginning, with pricing and communication about what we were looking for, Nick and Darren put our minds at ease. Once the initial planning stage was done, Darren kept in contact through email on a regular basis with pictures and all. I have to say, as this was our third build and the only one I couldn't see from beginning to end becuase of distance, I worried a litte. We didn't get out to see things until the cottage was well on the way. I personally come out to pick flooring, cabinets etc but what I really wanted to see was what appliances Okanagan Sunrise Construction were going to put in the cottage. When I went to look at them, I had full intentions of upgrading them. To my wonderful surprise, there was no need!

The walk through of the cottage with Nick, Darren and Dax was great. Darren and Dax had thought of some minor changes that worked so much better than our plan. They made us feel like no question was too much to ask, even though there wasn't a lot to say as it was better than our expectations. We went home feeling great about the decision to go with Okanagan Sunrise, and I personally went home starting to see not just Pat's dream, but maybe mine as well.

As a few month went by and we had a possession date in sight, we had a personal issue take place in our life and we emailed Darren to see if it was possible if we could somehow get possession 7 days earlier. Between him, Dax and the trades, they went above and behond to try and make it work, which they did. With Pat being in construction himself, we know how hard that is. Lining trades up and then rescheduling is not an easy task. Our final walk through was so easy, everything looked great.

As with anything new, there were a few tweaks that were looked after right away. One of our first weekend out, the air conditioning wasn't working right. It was a Friday, 36 degrees out, so I thought I would contact Darren to see if he could send someone out thinking maybe by Monday or Tuesday. He had someone out that afternoon. With our first 2 buld I had a Foreman and trades coming and going for up to 6 weeks after we took possession. This was a totally different story.

As we've been out here awhile now, i have gotten to watch a few of the cottages Okanagan Sunrise are building and, therefore, have met some of the trades that workded on our cottage. A great group of guys that also speak highly of Okanagan Sunrise.

I just wish my house wasn't so far away. We are starting the planning of a major remodel and I would love to have Darren's ideas and Dax as the man on site. I don't suppose you guys would be willing to come out to Cochrane, Alberta?

I can not say emough about what a great experience this has been. Okanagan Sunrise Construction has made Pat's dream into my dream as well.

With sincere thanks, Michelle, Pat Jessica, Shane and Emily.

My wife and I are a yound budget-conscious couple who were looking to move into downtown Kelowna. We found a small, overlooked lot that was in our price range, but knew that building costs could easily get out of control if we used the wrong contractor. We shopped around and met some great people at other companies, but Nick, Darren and Rick at Okanagan Sunrise Construction seemed to truly understand what we were looking for. From our first meeting to the final touches on our house, OSC was always professional, easy to work with, on time and on-budget. We were new to the experience of home building an they guided us through the process, makinig a task that often turns out to be a nightmare for some people actually and enjoyable one for us. OSC got us into our new house when they told us they would and we could not be happier with the experience. We would go with Okanagan Sunrise Construction again in a heartbeat.

Sincerly, Pete and Libby Mackenzie

We built our cottage with Okanagan Sunrise Construction Lotd during the winter and spring of this year. As we currently live in Calgary and built our cottage in West Kelowna, I was expecting some communication obstacles, as most of our correspondence with Okanagan Sunrise was done through email. To my great surprise and relief we had no issues whatsoever and no confusion between the two parties. I was very impressed how every detail and option was discussed prior to the work being completed. At no point was anything overlooked throughout our building process. We took possession of our cottage in June of this year. We were both excited to see it, as we didn't have much time throughout construction to visit the site. Well after our walk through, I then realized what an amazing job they really did. Our deficiencies were so minor; I won't even bother to mention them in this letter. Myself and my wife are both very maticulate individuals, and together we didn't find much to discuss as far as touch up or repairs are concerned. The few items that were addressed were dealt with in a very fast manner. Again we were impressed. I really don't have anything negative to say about Okanagan Sunrise. As far as I am concerned my whole experience with them has been all positive. This company is very professional, organized, and their amount of pride shows in their work. I highly recommend Okanagan Sunrise to anyone looking to build a home. If we ever build again I wouldn't even consider looking at another builder. Okanagan Sunrise will be our first call.

Dear Darren,

It's been three and a half months now since we took ownership of our lovely new cottage at La Casa on Lake Okanagan. The last few weeks we've been able to kick back an really enjoy ourselves; the view, the cottage and the whole experience, and thought it would be appropriate to let you know how much we appreciated all the time, effort and expertise that you and all the staff at Okanagan Sunrise put into making our foray into cottage country happen.

Building a home from scratch must be a daunting task for anyone, but for Penny and I, being far enough away that we couldn't be personally involved, wasn't a problem we needed to worry about. You and your staff made everything flow together seamlessly from the very beginning. Our very first meeting together to discuss our expectations and preliminary design proved to us both that we had made the right decision in picking OSC as our contractor.

The detail and layout of the General Contract was our first clue as to what the value of 40 years experience might be worth. Nothing was missed and we left that meeting knowing exactly what was going to happen and when. Of special note to us was the provision of a "Statutory Declaration in lieu of a Lien Holdback", that removed all concern for dealing with the trades and banking arrangements.

Our meeting with your recommended Suppliers was truly enjoyable. Every one of them brought complete knowledge of their products to the game, which might be expected. But in addition every one of them spent as much time as we wanted explaining the benefits of different products and educating us into the bargain! They were all truly, a very classy group of people. It's unfortunate that distance prevented us from meeting with the tradesmen, to thank them for the outstanding work they all did, and under winter conditions no less! A wonderful result from all of them.

So now the utilities, furnishings and provisioning are finally complete and we've spent the last month simply enjoying our new summer home and the wonderful view. Hardly a day goes by that we don't comment on all the design recommendations you made and how beautifully everything turned out. The finish work and attention to detail are evident everywhere you look, and we can't thank you all enough for making our home away from home so enjoyable.

Yours truly,

Len and Penny Armstrong

It's been 6 months since I took possession of my new home and I am very pleased with the whole experience of building my first house. Darren and Rick were very professional in handling all the changes and details and I felt that everything was brought to my attention in a timely manner so our combined decision was the right choice.

I appreciated the key at Lock-up stage as this gave me time before and after work to see what was done and to make decisions that affected the trades the next day. I believed that this saved time for myself and the sub-trades and kept to the schedule. Rick was so great to work with as he saw details that I didn't asd was the first to point out anything that he wasn't happy with.

In short, if I had a buyer for my home I would be glad to start a new home again with Okanagan Sunrise. I have not had one negative word about my home and would gladly recommend your company to anyone that asked!

Thanks again, I love it!

Months ago, I said I’d write to thank you for building my special home in Okanagan Centre - so here I am, finally doing so. Since I’m expecting that you’ll feel free to pass this on to
future individuals like me, I’ll try to express my thoughts from their point of view.

1. Okanagan Sunrise had good pricing.
It can be difficult to compare bids, since firms may have
apples-to-oranges line-items, but analysis of your quote showed you to be lean &
efficient. No contest.
2. The way I was treated was exemplary.
From the beginning, it was clear that Okanagan Sunrise
wanted my business, but you never pushed, or were pushy. Opposite really. You
waited patiently until I was ready to go ahead. That made it easier for me - and more
comfortable. Important too, was the courtesy and class that you and all your people
extended me, from the very first, to when you all came out to see the house - at the end.
3. Okanagan Sunrise is well-respected by the trades.
Since I was on site so much, I got to talking to
the actual “worker-people”. To a man, they had only good things to say about you.
When stuff went wonky, the “weight” of Okanagan Sunrise often played a role in having a trade
return to site to rectify the issue. I know of at least one instance where Sunrise was
concerned enough that you actually called a meeting with a particular trade to discuss
your own concerns. Impressive.
4. Okanagan Sunrise went with the flow.
Many aspects of my home were unique. The exterior
granite, interior Fir paneling, fixtures, and many other items required you to search out
suppliers/trades with whom you might not normally work. You went for it every time…
sometimes taking extra hours (days?) to find the right mason, wood, or fixtures. This
went above-and-beyond really, because when we started, the house was expected to be
“typical” and not the upscale house I ultimately decided upon.
5. Flexible budgeting/accounting.
The way we met to review the budget, and costs-
accrued was clear and professional. As you’d promised from the beginning, it allowed
me to adjust things as we proceeded - and know what costs would be. I can’t imagine
any other construction company doing better at this than did Okanagan Sunrise.
6. Rick Goyette.
Even if all of the above didn’t apply, if you can get Rick to build your
home - go for it! This guy is the hardest working, most ethical, most creative guy I can
imagine. This is shorthand for now… but this guy is respected by the trades, looks out
for the trades, and balances the whole project so things go as smoothly as possible. Just
as important, he looked out for me. If I was anxious or worried, he had a way of
calming things. He made the project FUN. Get Okanagan Sunrise - and get Rick. Well worth it.
Yours truly,

Nick Frost
